Video games is a serious industry business, but that doesn’t mean game developers will take it too seriously. Game developers also have their own sense of humor and aren’t afraid to infuse their creations with it in order to make us feel more relax while we fight, jump, explore etc. during games.

Sometimes the humor comes from the script, sometimes the mechanics, and sometimes it’s just the emergent joy of competing against friends. No matter what, these video games are bound to make players laugh and feel relax after a stressful day.

Here are the funniest games list we’ve ever played that we would like to share to you. Don’t forget to let’s us know which one is your favorite!

1. The Monkey Island Series:

Monkey Island is a series of five adventure video games. The first four games in the series were produced and published by LucasArts. The fifth installment of the franchise was a bit different, it was developed by Telltale Games in collaboration with LucasArts.

To be honest, the entire Monkey Island series of video games is too hilarious to exclude any of them. It’s a game that’s going to cause some gamers, and we’ve all met the type, to stink up the place up with their thoughts on its value, based on some fictional ratio between money spent and screen time.

All series of Monkey Island now can be purchase at Steam Store.

2. Portal:

Portal is a puzzle-platform video game developed and published by Valve Corporation. The game was released in a bundle package called The Orange Box for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2007. Later on, Portal has also been ported to PC and mobile platforms, including OS X, Linux, and Android.

Portal consists primarily of a series of puzzles that must be solved by teleporting the player’s character and simple objects using “the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device”, a device that can create inter-spatial portals between two flat planes.

In this game, we have GLaDOS (Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System) who is the central core designed to control, guide, and oversee the Aperture Science computer-aided Enrichment Center. Rarely has a video game villain been so charming, funny and intimidating all at once — and this one is a robot!

3. Portal 2:

Following the success of the predecessor, Portal 2 was released on April 19, 2011 for both PC (Windows, OS X, Linux) and consoles (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360). The retail versions of the game were taken care of Electronic Arts, while PC versions is handled by Valve’s content delivery service Steam. Portal 2 was announced in March 2010, following a week-long alternate reality game based on new patches to the original game.

While GLaDOS was the comic relief in the first Portal, Portal 2 relied on the voice of British comedian Stephen Merchant in the form of a robotic companion named Wheatley. If you think GLaDOS was funny with her deadpan dialogues, you need to hear Wheatley! Especially when GLaDOS and Wheatley start riffing off each other. Here is one of an example:

Wheatley: You know, there are test subjects in Africa who don’t even have monitors in their test chambers. Why don’t you think of that before you break any more of them?

4. Grand Theft Auto (GTA) Vice City:

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is an action-adventure video game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It was released in 2002 for PlayStation 2, Microsoft Windows, and finally on October 2003 for the Xbox. A remastered version was released for mobile platforms in 2012, for the game’s tenth anniversary.

Set within the fictional Vice City, based on Miami, the game follows Tommy Vercetti following his release from prison. After he is caught up in an ambushed drug deal, he seeks out those responsible while building a criminal empire and seizing power from other criminal organizations in the city.

Most of the credits should go to the hilarious radio jockeys which you can listen to while driving around the city. I have had to stop driving midway and just laugh so many times while playing the game. For example:

Lazlow: You know if one more mom calls in complaining, “My son listened to your station and then he flunked out of school, wa-wa-wa…”, well how you gonna learn to party at school, mom?

Just like the Monkey Island series, Grim Fandango is an adventure game also developed and published by LucasArts for Windows platform, in 1998. It is their first adventure game by LucasArts to use 3D computer graphics overlaid on pre-rendered, static backgrounds.

It’s the story of Manny, a reaper agent who ferries souls in the Land of the Dead to the Ninth Underworld, depending on how good or bad they were in their life. The game is full of witty one-liners, cheap puns and laugh-out-loud moments.

In this game, the player must converse with other characters and examine, collect, and use objects correctly to solve puzzles in order to move on till the end. There is a Remastered version of this game, it was released on Steam Store in 2015.

Brutal Legend is an action-adventure video game with real-time strategy game elements published by Electronic Arts for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows. Set in a universe somewhere between Lord of the Rings and Spinal Tap, it’s a fresh take on the action/driving genre, which in this case is full of imitation cover bands, demons intent on enslaving humanity and Heavy metal tunes.

Featuring the talents of comedian, actor and musician, Jack Black as super roadie Eddie Riggs (who claims to be the world’s best roadie and is on a mission to save rock’n’roll), as well as cameos by some of the biggest names in metal music it’s a wild ride in the belly of the beast that is not to be missed by gamers and Metalheads alike.

Here is one of the memorable moments:

Lars: What do you do with a bunch of kids who don’t know how to do anything except bang their heads all day?

9. Amateur Surgeon:

Amateur Surgeon is not like any other games that we’ve just mentioned above, it is not available on any console platforms, the only way you could enjoy it (for FREE) is to play online with your PC or mobile devices. Yes, it’s online Flash game.

Amateur Surgeon starts with a pizza boy Alan Probe, who is driving home one night, dreaming about being a surgeon, he hits Dr Ignacious Bleed, a disgraced surgeon. Dr Ignacious Bleed is bleeding so badly that Alan has to cut him open using his pizza tools, in order to stop the bleeding. After saving Dr Ignacious Bleed, Alan convinces him to teach him how to do surgery.

At first, Dr Ignacious is a bit confuse about Alan’s request, but at the same moment, a burglar falls trough the window so he has no choice but to help the burglar and teach Alan how to do surgery. From that moment onward, they are starting their own mini hospital and start to save people.

It’s got Adult Swim’s brand of entertaining and offensive humor, so you’ll have a blast if you enjoy that kind of stuff, or hate it if that’s not your style (up to you).

You know how the world can’t tell Clark Kent apart from Superman because of just a pair of glasses? Well, the world can’t tell an octopus apart from a human purely because he wears a suit!

Here is a funny in-game poem that we would like to share to you:

“Who’s that man with the three-piece suit?

Makin’ a doll with a log and fruit?

Who’s that man with the eight strong legs?

Octodad – he’s got a good thing going.

Octodad – nobody suspects a thing.

Octodad – Octodad.”
